Local health departments are not only excellent resources for their communities, but also are one of the least known. Most people know that your Macon County Health Department provides Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) services, immunizations, and inspections and licensing for food service establishments, but are not familiar with the plethora of other programs and services available for all residents of our community. Your Macon County Health Department wants to get the word out about all of our programs and services, which serve residents of all ages, education levels, and incomes.
To get the word out about everything your Macon County Health Department does, we will now be sending out a brief, one-page weekly feature. These features will highlight each of the health department’s programs and also specific services within each of these programs. While most people have heard of WIC and know we offer immunizations, they may not know everything WIC has to offer and to whom, and they most likely do not know of all the immunizations offered and in which instances they are recommended. If you have any questions or comments, please contact the health department contact listed on the feature. We are all happy to answer any questions or address any comments you may have about programs and services.
