REALITY Illinois is a teen-led initiative to advocate for tobacco-free public places in Macon County. With funding from the Illinois Department of Public Health and Macon County Health Department, REALITY Illinois is spreading the word about secondhand smoke and tobacco use throughout the community. The main goal of REALITY Illinois is to aid in creating more tobacco- and smoke-free public places throughout Macon County. These include places that adults and children visit, but cannot get away from secondhand smoke if it is present. They can be parks, playgrounds, ball fields, churches, and any other public space. Teen volunteers have the opportunity to gain real-world experience, leadership skills, and community service learning hours. For more information on how to help and/or get involved with this initiative, please call (217) 423-6988 ext: 1115 or call/text (707) 51-TEENS or visit the REALITY Illinois Macon County Facebook page.
Please help the teens by participating in the Macon County Community Tobacco Survey.
